It goes without saying that Counting Crows are some of the best live performers of all time. Ohh yeah all time. Who were you thinking? The Beatles? Elvis? Maybe KISS? Nope your wrong. A little band from Berkeley that no one seems to know about. Counting Crows.
But this is about a little band from Fort Worth affectionately referred to as GRO. These guys are really good and I suggest you try to get your hands on some of their stuff. Of course they have a myspace page. The lead singer seemed to play/sing from the heart. It looked like he was into what he was trying to get across to the audience. I think the best thing about them was that I really wanted my wife to hear them. If I suggest them to my wife that is a big deal. There are few bands that I think are worthy of telling my wife about, because she is the type to not really listen to the words, just like a catchy tune. She is an easy listener. No not like Kenny G easy listening. I mean as long as the song is catchy or it’s a love song, then she likes it. So for the most part I don’t waste my time, unless they are really good and I don’t want to see her miss out on them, which is the case with Green River Ordinance.
I got a chance to talk with their lead guitarist, and he told me that the lead singer was going to get to go on the road with Collective Soul. CS is touring right now with the Crows. So anyway I told the lead guitarist that if he ever got a chance to talk to Adam Duritz to tell him I said “hello”. I also told him that if I ever got a chance to meet Duritz I would tell him that he said “hello”. I’ll keep my word.
